Chief Minister Shri Tirath Singh Rawat launched Senior Citizen National Helpline Elderline 14567 in Uttarakhand in a program organized at STPI Building, IT Park, Dehradun. Helpline 14567 has been started for the welfare of senior citizens by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India and Government of Uttarakhand. The Chief Minister said that everyone should come forward to help the elderly. For this public awareness is very important. A large number of senior citizens are leading a lonely life in the remote and mountainous areas of Uttarakhand. We have to reach out to all of them and solve their problems. It is necessary to bring awareness to the village level. Information about schemes and programs operated for the welfare of senior citizens should be given up to the village level. Cabinet Minister Shri Yashpal Arya said that through this helpline, the problems of senior citizens will be resolved from home. This will not only be a call center but will become a connecting center in the true sense. Mr. Arya said that the employees working at the call center should be tactful.
