Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami launched Uttarakhand Earthquake Alert App.

Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami launched the mobile application “Uttarakhand Earthquake Alert” app at the Secretariat. This app, created by the Uttarakhand State Disaster Management Authority, Disaster Management Department and Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, will provide early warning of earthquake.

Uttarakhand is the first state to make this app. This will help in public safety. The location of people can also be obtained during an earthquake through this app. Through earthquake alerts, information can be given when trapped in earthquake-damaged structures. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that Uttarakhand is an earthquake-prone state. Through this app, people can get early earthquake warning, so that people should be informed about this app. It should be disseminated widely through various mediums. A short film should be made and made accessible to the people by the Disaster Management Department. In schools also, children should be given information about this app through a short film.

The Chief Minister said that those who do not have an Android phone, they should also get the warning message before the earthquake, through this app this facility should also be provided. In the early warning of earthquake, arrangements should be made for alerts through both siren and voice. Separate siren tone for earthquake early warning. The Chief Minister said that this is a good initiative for early earthquake warning.

On this occasion, Disaster Management and Rehabilitation Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, Chief Secretary Dr. SS Sandhu, Additional Chief Secretary Mr. Anand Bardhan, Secretary Disaster Management Mr. S.A. Murugesan, IIT Roorkee Prof. Kamal and officials of Disaster Management Department were present.
