315 cases of child pornography in the state.

Child pornography cases are also increasing in Uttarakhand. The CCR portal (Cybercrime Reporting Portal) of the Union Ministry of Home Affairs has sent 315 cases related to Uttarakhand to the police headquarters. Now these cases will be verified on a large scale. A preliminary investigation has also registered an FIR in Dehradun in a case in the past. According to the police, big action will be seen in these cases soon.

According to information received from the police headquarters, this year the portal was created by the Ministry of Home Affairs to monitor child pornography. Rules and legislation are constantly being tightened regarding child pornography. To curb this, the portal monitors social media in all states. Recently, many states including Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra have been informed about their child pornography cases. These include 315 cases of Uttarakhand.

According to officials, this wing of the ministry has directed strict action stating that all the cases are related to Uttarakhand. Teams have been formed for their verification earlier. All these matters are being sent to the respective districts. Also, the cyber cell has been directed to verify them from their level. In these cases, a case is to be filed immediately after verification.

What is child pornography:
Pornography comes under the purview of such photos, videos, articles, audio and other material which is sexual in nature. It should be based on nudity. The anti-pornography law applies when such content is made viral on social media or sent to anyone. It is also considered illegal to view child pornography.

How much is the punishment:
A lawsuit is filed in these cases under Section 67B of the IT Act (Amendment) 2009. Along with this, sections 292, 29 294, 500 and 509 of IPC are also included in it. It carries a punishment of up to five years in jail or a fine of up to Rs 10 lakh.

The CCRP has informed the Uttarakhand Police about 315 child pornography cases. These cases have been reported related to Uttarakhand. These have been sent to the respective districts. Recently a case has been registered in Dehradun. Special teams have been formed to verify all other cases.
