CM Dhami requested the approval of Kendriya Vidyalayas in Narendra Nagar and Kotdwar, the Chief Minister made a courtesy call on the Union Education Minister.

  • Also requested to expedite the construction of Kendriya Vidyalaya building in Mahalia village of Khatima.
  • Urge to include Uttarakhand in the ‘Accelerating State Education Program to Improve Results’ scheme.

Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami paid a courtesy call on Union Education Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan in New Delhi. He requested the Union Minister to approve the proposal of opening of Kendriya Vidyalaya in Narendra Nagar under Tehri Garhwal district and Kotdwar under Pauri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand state. He said that proposal in this regard has been sent by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Dehradun Division, Regional Office to Joint Commissioner (Personnel) Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (HQ), New Delhi. The Chief Minister urged to give permission to open Kendriya Vidyalayas at the above places keeping in view the interests of the regional people of the state of Uttarakhand.

Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami also requested the Union Minister to direct the executive body to expedite the construction of Kendriya Vidyalaya Bhavan in village Mahalia of Khatima tehsil of Udham Singh Nagar district.

The Chief Minister said that important initiatives have been taken to improve the quality of school education in Uttarakhand in the last four years. Adequate assistance is being given by the Government of India in holistic education. In the new National Education Policy, the Government of India is focusing on quality education. The Chief Minister requested the Union Education Minister to include Uttarakhand in the ‘Accelerating State Education Program to Improve Results’ scheme.
