The demand for opening of colleges around Garampani area on Almora-Haldwani highway has started picking up once again.

Panchayat representatives and traders have declared a struggle over the matter. It is said that correspondence will also be done to the Prime Minister’s Office regarding the matter.

There are more than ten inter colleges around the Garampani area on the highway. After passing the Inter examination, students of the area have to turn to Almora, Nainital, Ranikhet for higher education. In which students have to face a lot of difficulties. Students move daily in which a lot of expenses have to be incurred. Some students take room in Ranikhet, Almora, Haldwani, Nainital, so parents have to bear the extra expenses. Many parents are unable to provide higher education to their children due to lack of proper money.

Some time ago, Betalghat college was established but Betalghat is also located at a distance of thirty kilometers from Garampani area. The distance of colleges in Ranikhet, Almora, Nainital is also thirty kilometers, in such a way that students are not getting the benefit of Betalghat college. Panchayat representatives and traders say that if a college is established around Garampani area, then the naural of villagers of more than one hundred villages in the vicinity will be benefited.

Block Vice President Savita Bisht of Gram Pradhan Sangathan, Gram Pradhan Chhada Khairna Prem Nath Goswami, Former Gram Pradhan Puran Lal Sah, Former Region Pradhan Panchayat Member Mamta Sah, Provincial Municipal Industries Board of State Business Vice President Manish Tiwari, Mahipal Singh Bisht, Bishan Jantwal, Sanjay Singh Bisht, NK Arya, Kamal Tiwari, Bhaskar Tripathi, Trilochan Budhalakoti, Firoz Ahmed, etc. have strongly raised the demand for college. Panchayat representatives and traders have also announced a struggle on the matter, as well as said that correspondence will be made to the Prime Minister’s Office on the matter.
