Uttarakhand: Anil Raturi (DGP) retired, Ashok Kumar (IPS) took charge

Uttarakhand Director General of Police (DGP) Anil Kumar Raturi retired on Monday. He served as DGP for more than three years. During this time he took many important steps from law and order to police welfare. A police parade was organized in his honor on Monday, after which police officers pushed his car and gave him a traditional farewell.

The parade was organized at around 9:30 am in the police line Dehradun ground. DGP Anil Kumar Raturi oversaw the parade. After the inspection he recalled his 20-year tenure in Uttarakhand during the address. He said that he came to Uttarakhand in August 2000 as OSD. In 20 years of experience, he has seen Uttarakhand and the police here very closely.

He said that in 20 years, Uttarakhand Police is touching new dimensions every day. Many records have also been made by the police during this period. It is the hard work of the police constables, the inspector and inspectors. Uttarakhand Police personnel will always be known for their style of work and decent language.

The Central Government has also considered the work done by the Uttarakhand Police in the lockdown recently. He is happy that he has been a part of the most civilized police in the country and in future also the police will be known in the name of this style of functioning. He thanked everyone on this occasion. Additional Director General of Police PVK Prasad, IG Abhinav Kumar, IG Sanjay Gunjyal, IG Amit Sinha, all DIGs and other officers were present in the program.

Major tasks done:
– Operation Smile was run to find the missing children.
– Hill petrol unit started in the mountains on the lines of CPU.
– E-conduction system introduced.
During this period, more than 6 thousand policemen were trained.
– In 2018, the police team climbed Mount Everest.
– Uttarakhand Police stood second in consumption of human resources in the India Justice Report of the Common Wealth Human Rights Initiative.
Last year, three police stations of the state were among the top 10 among 15,000 police stations of the country.

Raturi recognizes the functionality of officers:
On this occasion, newly appointed DGP Ashok Kumar said that DGP Anil Raturi is one of the best leadership officers. He recognized the work potential of every officer. DGP Raturi has always been advocating for the welfare of the police. That is why his tenure will always be remembered by the officers and employees who have worked with him.

IPS Ashok Kumar takes charge as DGP:
Ashok Kumar, a 1989 batch IPS officer, took over as Uttarakhand DGP at 5 pm on Monday. IPS Anil Kumar Raturi, who retired from DGP, handed over the charge to him. In his ardent style, Anil Kumar Raturi handed him the baton of police and handed over the command of Uttarakhand Police to him and wished him all the best for the future.

Earlier, before retiring on Monday, DGP Anil Kumar Raturi was given a farewell by police officers at Police Line Dehradun. After this, DGP Anil Kumar Raturi stayed in the office till five o’clock in the evening and handed charge to DGP Ashok Kumar at exactly five o’clock. Top police officers were present on the occasion. Ashok Kumar has been the captain of many cities of undivided Uttar Pradesh during his 31-year tenure.

After this, he was the police captain in many districts of Uttarakhand. During this time he played a role in ending terrorism from the Terai. Ashok Kumar has also been in paramilitary force like BSF, CRPF etc. on central deputation. While in BSF, he did many operations and did many things for the welfare of the force. He is known for his innate nature and soft language. They have already said that the police will be friendly to the public and fear for criminals. Action will be taken against anyone who violates this principle.
