EVMs and VV Pats used in elections will be monitored through GPS. GPS will be installed in the vehicles in which these machines will be kept. Representatives of all political parties will be called in all the work related to the use of EVMs. Even before sending EVMs to polling stations, they will be sealed in the presence of representatives of all political parties. EVM machines are being used in elections. There are approximately 25 thousand EVMs and more than 20 thousand VVPAT machines for the Lok Sabha elections in the state. On the VVPAT machine, the voter can see to whom the vote cast by him has gone. Usually, after defeat in elections, candidates raise questions on EVM machines. In view of this, the Office of the Chief State Electoral Officer is continuously taking steps towards maintaining complete transparency in the use of EVMs.
Monitoring of movement of EVM and VVPAT will be ensured
As per the instructions of the Election Commission of India, monitoring of the movement of EVMs and VVPATs will be ensured through GPS fitted vehicles or mobile app based GPS tracking system. For this, EVM control room will be set up in the Chief Electoral Officer office and District Electoral Officer office to monitor the activities of EVMs and VVPATs through web portal or mobile app. From here, the vehicles with EVMs will be continuously monitored and its recording will also be done, so that it can be known through which route the vehicles have gone and where. Not only this, every time EVMs are used for some work, representatives or candidates of political parties will be called. Be it giving demos through machines or sealing of machines, during all these activities political parties will be invited by sending formal letters.
Joint Chief Electoral Officer Pratap Shah said that GPS tracking of vehicles carrying and carrying EVMs will be done. Every time the machines are used for some work, representatives and candidates of political parties will be invited.
