Expenditure observers for all five Lok Sabha seats in the state have reached Uttarakhand. He has started meetings with officials. They will monitor the expenditure of candidates and parties during the nominations to be held on Friday. As per the instructions of the Chief Electoral Officer’s office, enforcement teams recovered 450 liters of liquor in Mukteshwar police station area on Wednesday. Till now 600 liters of liquor has been recovered in Champawat. A total of 736 liters of liquor has been recovered so far. Talking to journalists at the media center located at the Secretariat on Thursday, Joint Chief Electoral Officer Namami Bansal said that liquor worth a total of Rs 3 crore was recovered in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. In 2022, a total of liquor worth Rs 4.70 crore was recovered.
He said that at the state level, 628 liquor shops as well as eight bottling plants and distilleries are being monitored through CCTV. Besides, GPS tracking systems have also been installed on all the vehicles engaged in liquor distribution.
He said that in the 2019 elections, local residents had boycotted the elections at a total of 10 booths. This time no complaint of boycott has been received from anywhere. 5625 complaints received so far on C-Vigil app have been resolved.
Polling parties will leave for 12 booths three days in advance
Joint Chief Electoral Officer said that this time there are only 12 booths where polling parties will have to leave three days before voting. Of these, 11 booths are from Uttarkashi and one booth from Pithoragarh. He told that the distance of this booth of Pithoragarh is 10 km and there are 586 voters here. Whereas the distance of Liwadi booth of Uttarkashi is 20 km. There are a total of 577 voters at this booth.
