The weather has once again taken a turn in Uttarakhand. Once again the rain has intensified on the mountains. The rains which started from Wednesday will continue for several days now. A warning of heavy rain has been issued in Uttarakhand for the next 4 days. According to the Meteorological Department, an alert for heavy rain has been issued in the state till July 30. Monsoon will remain active till July 30 and in view of heavy rains, Orange and Yellow alerts have been issued.
According to weather experts, there is a possibility of rain with dense clouds till July 30 in Haridwar district and entire Uttarakhand. It started raining in the city and surrounding areas since morning on Wednesday. Which continued intermittently till 10:30 in the morning. There, the sky remained cloudy throughout the day. The maximum temperature in the city dropped by seven degrees Celsius on Wednesday as compared to Tuesday.

The maximum temperature in Roorkee dropped to 27.5 degrees Celsius. Which was 5.1 degree Celsius less than normal. While the minimum temperature fell from 3.5 degree Celsius to 22.5 degree Celsius. Which was 3.4 degree Celsius less than normal. On the other hand, according to the information received from the Rural Agricultural Weather Services Project operated in the Water Resources Development and Management Department of IIT Roorkee, the weather will remain like this till July 30 in Haridwar district.
Roads are being closed due to landslides:
The rain on Wednesday caused a lot of trouble to the people. In mountainous areas, rains and landslides are creating constant hindrance to traffic. Due to this, the process of blocking the Char Dham Yatra routes is also going on. Landslide areas especially at Dabarkot on the Yamunotri Highway and Chhinka on the Badrinath Highway continue to be a challenge.
The Yamunotri Highway, which was closed for five days due to debris near Dabarkot in Uttarkashi, could be opened at 6.30 pm on Wednesday. Apart from this, the Gangotri Highway in Uttarkashi was blocked at various places for about 10 hours, the Badrinath Highway in Chamoli for 12 hours and the Gaurikund Highway near Phata in Rudraprayag for four hours. Pilgrims going to Yamunotri and Gangotri are facing a lot of trouble due to continuous blockage of the highway due to heavy rains and landslides in Uttarkashi.
Yamunotri Highway and Badrinath Highway remained blocked:
Due to rain since Tuesday night, the Gangotri Highway was blocked near Bandarkot, Maneri Dam, Laldhang, Helgugad for about 10 hours till Wednesday afternoon. The process of falling of stones from the hill near Dabarkot on Yamunotri Highway continued throughout the day on Wednesday. The stone pelting stopped in the evening, then the highway could be made smooth at around 6.30 pm. However, in view of the danger of falling stones from the hill, movement near Dabarkot has been completely restricted at night. Due to incessant rains in Rudraprayag district, the Gaurikund Highway was blocked at seven in the morning due to debris near Phata.
After the hard work of the National Highway team, the traffic on the highway was restored at 11 am. Badrinath Highway in Chamoli district was closed in the early hours due to debris and boulders near Baba Ashram, Nandprayag, Chhinka, Pagalnala, Joshimath Chungi, Jogidhara. The highway was made functional near Chinka at 8:45 am, near Baba Ashram at 9:56 am, Pagalnala at 10:41 am, Chungi near Jogidhara at 10:53 am, while near Nandprayag at 4:39 pm.
