Teachers and employees of non-government colleges under Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna University will protest on Wednesday.

In the dharna, the State University Act will oppose the abolition of the system of grants.

Officials of HNB University Teachers Association said that the dharna time would be from 11 am to 1 pm. There will be demonstrations in all 18 non-government colleges in the state. It was said that in the State University Act-1973, arrangements were made to give grants to government aided private colleges.
Under this, the State Government has been giving grants for the salaries to the teachers and employees of private colleges, but the provision of the grant has not been mentioned in the new Act. This will put a crisis on the salary of teachers and employees. This decision of the government is not only against teacher-employees but also threatens the future of thousands of students.
