Following the order of the state government, the district administration has started preparing for the night curfew in the urban area of Dehradun. According to administrative sources, it may come into force from Saturday. It will be decided on Saturday how long the night curfew will be in force. The time of night curfew has been fixed from 10 am to 5 am by the government, but its deadline has not been set. It is being told that the common people will not be able to move in the city till 5 am in the night curfew, but the necessary services will be completely smooth. At present, this system will remain in force under the Municipal Corporation of Dehradun, but it can be implemented in the rural area as and when required.
Cases of corona infection in Dehradun are increasing steadily. On an average, around 300 cases are being reported daily in Doon. Given this, the government has ordered a night curfew in Dehradun. In this sequence, the district administration has started preparing to implement the night curfew system from 10 pm on April 10. Sources said that the services required in the curfew will not be affected. All passengers arriving by roadways buses, trains and airplanes will be allowed to show tickets. Apart from this, there will be no restriction on the movement of goods carrier vehicles. Administration officials said that during this period, arrangements will be made to mark and open drug shops and petrol pumps, so that the public does not face any problem in an emergency. Media personnel will also be allowed to show their identity cards.
District Magistrate Dr. Ashish Kumar Srivastava said that the administration has started preparations in connection with the instructions that have been received from the government. A guide line will be released in this regard on Saturday.
