The weather has changed in the mountainous regions of Uttarakhand on Tuesday afternoon. High Himalayan regions have received rain and snowfall. Late in the evening, the high peaks of Badrinath and Kedarnath received snowfall. At the same time, there may be landslides due to rain in some mountainous districts on Wednesday. In this regard, the Meteorological Department has issued advisory to the concerned departments.
The Indian Meteorological Center had on Tuesday predicted hailstorms and celestial lightning in Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Dehradun, and Pithoragarh districts.
In view of this, the Meteorological Department had issued a yellow alert. Hail is forecast in Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Bageshwar, Nainital, Almora, and Pithoragarh districts on Wednesday. There is a possibility of heavy rain and snowfall in the Uttarkashi, Chamoli, and Pithoragarh districts.
The Meteorological Department has advised the concerned departments, including the Public Works Department, to repair the roads and keep other necessary preparations. Strong winds are expected at some places in the plains. The Meteorological Department has issued an Orange Alert for Wednesday. At the same time, on Monday, Dehradun was cloudy for almost the whole day, due to which people had to be disturbed by the humid heat.
