Also requested to stay in any winter tourist destination. It is believed that on January 28, he can go to Harshil or any other place for night stay. Uttarakhand has got the hosting of the National Games this time and preparations for this have also reached the final stage. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami recently met Prime Minister Modi and urged him to inaugurate the National Games. Along with this, the Chief Minister also informed the Prime Minister about the steps taken regarding winter travel and tourism in the state. The Prime Minister will inaugurate the National Games on the evening of January 28. Whether he will stay here for the night or not, it will be clear only after receiving the official program of the Prime Minister, but preparations are also going on at the administrative level in view of his night stay. However, the Prime Minister will also be busy in view of the Delhi Assembly elections. Sources said that if the Prime Minister stays overnight on January 28, then options have been kept open in other winter places including Bagori village near Harshil. Recently, a team of state government officials also visited Bagori.
What is the status of preparations for the 38th National Games?
After the extensive expansion of infrastructure facilities for the 38th National Games, work has also started on their long-term use. Wherever infrastructure is being prepared by increasing sports facilities, a proposal to open a sports academy is being prepared there. The proposal of sports academy is being included in the draft of the legacy policy being prepared at the level of the Sports Department. It will soon be sent to the government for approval. These days, infrastructure is being prepared on a large scale for sports in Uttarakhand. State-of-the-art equipment has been procured from India and abroad. Many sports equipment are of international standards. It is also being considered how the infrastructure facilities will be operated after the National Games. After the National Games ended in Ranchi, the infrastructure could not be used properly. As a result, expensive equipment got damaged due to lack of maintenance. Taking lessons from other states, Uttarakhand has also started working rapidly on the draft of the legacy policy. Sports infrastructure facilities have increased on a large scale from Maharana Pratap Sports Stadium and College in Dehradun to Khatima, Haridwar, Haldwani and many other cities. After the National Games, a sports academy is being considered necessary to maintain the infrastructure and state-of-the-art equipment at these places. Along with this, after the start of the sports academy, the facility of training in the respective sports will also be available for the players. The department will need human resources related to training and management to run the sports academy. According to Special Principal Secretary Sports Amit Sinha, a draft of the legacy policy is being prepared so that Uttarakhand continues to benefit from sports infrastructure facilities for a long time.
