Kedarnath Yatra generates 200 crore business in one month, good income from heli service, horse mule

operationThe Kedarnath Dham Yatra is making records in business as well as in the number of pilgrims. Around 200 crore business has been done in one month’s journey. 100 crore income has been generated from hotel business, 35 crore from heli service, 40.50 crore from horse mule operation. The doors of Baba Kedar opened on May 2. Till now more than seven lakh pilgrims have visited Kedarnath Dham. This is increasing the employment of local people. Kedarnath Dham Yatra is one of the most difficult religious journeys in the country. After crossing a difficult walking path of about 20 kilometers, one can have darshan of the 11th Jyotilinga situated in the lap of the Himalayas. Horses and mules play a very important role in this difficult religious journey on foot. Incapable and elderly devotees often travel through them. Food items and other essential items are transported to the pilgrimage route and Kedarnath through these horses and mules. Till 31 May, 1,39,444 pilgrims reached Kedarnath through horses and mules. Through which an income of more than 40 crores and 50 lakhs has been received. 100 crores from the hotel business and GMVN has received more than 3.80 crores from the booking of rest house and meditation cave.

35 crores earned from operation of heli service

Heli service is in great demand for the journey to Kedarnath Dham. Till 31 May, about 33000 devotees have reached Baba Kedarnath Dham through heli services. Due to which an income of about 35 crores has been received.

More than one crore income from dandi-kandi

The operation of horses and mules on the Kedarnath Dham foot journey route is as important as the operation of dandi-kandi. More than 7000 dandi-kandi operators are registered for this year’s yatra. Till 31st May, 29275 devotees have travelled through dandi-kandi, which has generated an income of Rs. 1 crore 16 lakh, 89 thousand 100. At the same time, fines of Rs. 2,26,000 have been collected from various establishments for spreading dirt and violating other rules.

7 crore business from taxi operation

225 taxis are registered for shuttle service in Kedarnath Dham Yatra. Devotees reach Gaurikund from Sonprayag in these vehicles. Till now, more than seven lakh devotees have reached Shri Kedarnath Dham. Every passenger has to pay Rs. 50 for going and Rs. 50 for returning to Sonprayag. Till 01st June, 7 lakh devotees have reached the Dham, which means till now the taxi operators have earned about Rs. 7 crore through shuttle service.

Kedarnath Dham Yatra has become the center of faith and culture. The aim of the government is not only to provide facilities to the pilgrims but also to economically empower the local youth, women and businessmen.
