Speech and essay competitions will be held in local dialect once a week in schools. At the same time, the amount of Uttarakhand Sahitya Bhushan Award will be increased from five lakh to five lakh 51 thousand rupees. Long term literary service award will also be given. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced this in the general assembly and management executive committee meeting held in the secretariat of Uttarakhand Bhasha Sansthan.
The Chief Minister said that the dialects, folk tales, folk songs and literature of Uttarakhand will be preserved in digital form. For this, an e-library should be created. Along with increasing the collection based on folk tales, audio visuals should also be made on them. Festivals of Uttarakhand language and literature should be organized on a large scale, in which litterateurs from all over the country should be invited. A linguistic map of the dialects of Uttarakhand should be made.
People of the state should give books in place of bouquets as a gift: Dhami
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami told the people of the state that the practice of books in place of bouquets as a gift should be promoted in the state. It was decided in the meeting that the amount of long term Sahitya Sevak Samman will be five lakh rupees. A young writer competition will be organized to encourage young writers towards official language Hindi. Young writers of two age groups 18 to 24 and 25 to 35 will be included in it. Along with making arrangements for mobile libraries in remote places of the state, it was agreed to take the help of big publishers to provide books and literature related to various subjects to the readers. Bhasha Sansthan will work towards promoting local dialects by preparing short videos to increase the interest of children towards folk languages.
Pandwani singing ‘Bakna’ will be documented
It was decided in the meeting that documentation will be done to preserve the Pandawani singing ‘Bakna’ which is prevalent in Jaunsar Bawar area since ancient times. Uttarakhand Bhasha Sansthan will compile the entire literature of eminent playwright Govind Ballabh Pant, literature of Uttarakhand writers published in various journals and magazines of India 50 to 100 years ago and conduct research projects for the preservation and study of high Himalayan and tribal languages of Uttarakhand.
Two Sahitya Grams to be built in the state
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that two Sahitya Grams will be built in the state for literary creation amidst nature, seminars and discussions among litterateurs. Language Minister Subodh Uniyal, Principal Secretary RK Sudhanshu, Secretary V. Shanmugam, Sridhar Babu Adanki, Director Language Swati Bhadauria, Additional Secretary Manuj Goyal, Vice Chancellor Doon University Dr. Surekha Dangwal, Vice Chancellor Sanskrit University Haridwar Prof. Dinesh Chandra Shastri etc. were present in the meeting.
