The heli services starting from September in the next phase for the Chardham Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri and Yamunotri in Uttarakhand will be operated with new standards.
Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu said this while talking to journalists on the occasion of the conference of ministers of northern regional states on civil aviation. He also said that there will be no compromise on the safety of passengers in the operation of heli services. Union Civil Aviation Minister Naidu said that the Regional Connectivity Scheme is already in operation for the expansion of heliports and helipads in the hilly states. Under this, heliports are being built from Jammu and Kashmir to Arunachal.
18 heliports are also being developed in Uttarakhand. He said that from the security point of view, it is very difficult to operate helicopter services in the climatic and geographical conditions in the hilly areas. World class standards are being studied in this regard. Referring to Chardham including Kedarnath, he said that ATC is also challenging here. Efforts are being made to ensure that ATC has an impact in the Chardham network. Along with this, UKADA and the Civil Aviation Ministry are discussing in detail to change the frequency of pilot and helicopter operations or to take other steps.
When heli services for Chardham will start in September, by then such decisions will be taken that they are operated in a precise manner. People from all over the world come for Chardham Yatra.
