Following the instructions of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, in view of the disaster situation arising in various areas of the state due to heavy rains, the ministers have started running for their respective districts.
Cabinet minister Ganesh Joshi is on a tour of Udham Singh Nagar district since Sunday, while Subodh Uniyal has visited Raipur area of Dehradun. Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat has left for a tour of five districts, while Saurabh Bahuguna will go to Rudraprayag on Tuesday.
Haridwar district has been most affected due to incessant rains. Life has been badly affected in Khanpur, Laksar and Narsan development blocks of the district. Apart from this, people are facing problems due to damage to roads, drinking water schemes and power lines due to excessive rains in other districts of the state.

Recently, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had directed the DMs and SSPs of all the districts to take necessary steps to deal with the disaster situation arising due to rains. He himself is constantly monitoring the situation. Meanwhile, despite the disaster situation, questions were being raised regarding the distance of the ministers in charge of the districts from their respective districts.
On Saturday, Chief Minister Dhami expected all the ministers to migrate to the districts under their charge and ensure the speed of relief and rescue operations. As per the instructions of the Chief Minister, Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi left for Udham Singh Nagar district on Sunday and visited Kashipur and Bajpur to take stock of the situation.
Cabinet Minister Subodh Uniyal visited Raipur area of Dehradun on Saturday and gave necessary instructions to the officials. Now cabinet minister Dhan Singh Rawat has left for Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Pauri, Bageshwar and Almora tour. He will hold discussions with the officials regarding disaster management in these districts till July 20.
Cabinet Minister Saurabh Bahuguna will leave for Rudraprayag on Tuesday. Minister in-charge of Uttarkashi and Tehri districts, Premchand Aggarwal, had recently inquired about the situation by talking to the DMs of both the districts on the phone. Haridwar’s in-charge minister Satpal Maharaj and Nainital and Champawat’s in-charge minister Rekha Arya are out of the state. The charge of Pauri and Pithoragarh districts has not yet been given to any minister.
