The toll-free number of the country’s first heli ambulance service operated by All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh has been released. AIIMS Executive Director Prof. Meenu Singh said that the needy of inaccessible and remote areas can avail the service by calling on toll-free number 18001804278. This number will be active 24 hours. Apart from this, a WhatsApp number has also been issued for necessary medical information. Prof. Meenu Singh said that on October 29, Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually launched the heli ambulance, after which the heli ambulance has worked to transport many patients to AIIMS. Said that due to some reason the toll-free number of the heli ambulance service (Toll Free Number For Heli Service Uttarakhand) could not be issued, which has now been issued for the needy people. He said that apart from the toll-free number, the institute has also issued WhatsApp number 9084670331, in which necessary details of the concerned patient can be sent. He said that the service can also be availed through the District Magistrate or Chief Medical Officer of the concerned area. The nodal officer of the service, Dr. Madhur Uniyal, said that this service is being done under the Sanjeevani Yojana operated with the joint cooperation of the Center and the State.
Who will get the heli ambulance
The nodal officer of the heli ambulance medical service, Dr. Madhur Uniyal, said that such people from remote areas of the hilly districts of the state, who are in a critical condition due to being a victim of a major accident. This service can be used to transport to AIIMS a pregnant woman in distress in case of delivery being unable to take place, a person suffering from brain stroke or heart attack, a person seriously injured due to falling down a hill, a person seriously injured in an attack by a wild animal or person, a person stranded in distress due to weather or other reasons because of the difficult geographical conditions of the high Himalayan regions and a person suffering from disability or struggling to save his life due to any reason.
