
The heads and deputy heads of the villages selected under the Vibrant Village Scheme returned from Delhi after attending the Republic Day celebrations. On January 27, Anupriya Rawat, wife of Harshil’s Deputy Chief Madhavendra Rawat, also got an opportunity to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi. During this, he presented to the Prime Minister his picture made on the bark of Bhojpatra, in which the Prime Minister is saluting Lord Ram. The Prime Minister became elated after seeing his photograph and expressed his gratitude to Anupriya. The heads and deputy heads of vibrant villages Harshil, Dharali, Mukhwa, Bagori, Jhala, Jaspur, Purali and Sukki of frontier Uttarkashi district along with their families had gone to Delhi to attend the Republic Day celebrations on the special invitation of the Central Government.

To present to Prime Minister Modi, Anupriya had made his picture on the bark of Bhojpatra. To prepare it he used the natural color of walnut bark. While meeting Anupriya at Cariappa Ground in Delhi Cantt, the Prime Minister praised her skill and asked about the method of preparing the picture.
It took a month to make the picture of PM
When asked by PM Modi, Anupriya told the Prime Minister that it took her about a month to bring Bhojpatra bark, prepare color from walnut bark and make the picture. He also shared other information about Harshil with the Prime Minister. Anupriya, a resident of Harshil village, is a teacher by profession.
