
After the avalanche incident near Pratham village Mana, the central government is keeping a close watch on the rescue and relief operations. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday morning took information from Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami over the phone regarding the avalanche incident and rescue operation. According to Chief Minister Dhami, the Prime Minister has assured all possible help from the Center. He informed that Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh are also concerned about the safe evacuation of the workers trapped in the avalanche and they are also constantly taking updates. The Chief Minister has expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister, Home Minister and Defense Minister for the cooperation being given by the Center.
Chief Minister Dhami is constantly active
Since receiving information about the avalanche incident in Mana, Chief Minister Dhami is constantly active and is continuously monitoring the rescue operation. On Friday, he reached the State Emergency Operations Center twice and took stock of the rescue and relief operations. He also kept taking updates from the Chamoli DM.
As soon as the weather became favorable on Saturday morning, he conducted an aerial inspection of the site and then reached Dehradun and reviewed the rescue and relief operations with senior officials at the State Emergency Operations Center.
More than 200 people engaged in rescue operation
After this, while talking to journalists, Chief Minister Dhami said that the operation is going on to safely evacuate all the workers caught in the avalanche. More than 200 people from departments including Army, ITBP, NDRF, SDRF are engaged in the rescue operation. He told that there were eight containers near the site of the incident, which are being traced and work is going on on a war footing to safely evacuate the workers.
Sniffer dogs have been deployed to search for the container. Three teams of the army are doing intensive patrolling. Army’s GPS radar has also been ordered from Delhi. On Sunday, a search operation is being carried out through GPR, thermal imaging and victim location camera. Meanwhile, the Chief Minister took an update from the Disaster Management Secretary late in the evening.
