Chief Secretary Dr. SS Sandhu has asked to take the services of the best consultants and experts of the country for the reconstruction work of Joshimath. He has given instructions to quickly prepare DPR for works like slope stabilization, drinking water, sewerage, drainage etc. in Joshimath. He has also asked to develop a ropeway cell to strengthen the ropeway system in the state.
Meeting held to beautify Joshimath
Chief Secretary Dr. SS Sandhu held a meeting in the Secretariat on Thursday regarding works related to disaster risk reduction in Joshimath. He said that from the preparation of DPR for the works of Joshimath till the commencement of the work, time limit should be fixed for each work. He instructed the departmental secretaries to monitor them weekly to ensure that all the work is completed on time. He himself will also look after these works on a fortnightly basis. The Chief Secretary said that special attention should be paid to quality while carrying out the works.
Ropeway connectivity will increase in the state
Discussing the Auli Ropeway, the Chief Secretary said that special attention should be given to this work. Ropeway connectivity is being promoted in the state, for this there is a need to develop a strong ropeway cell. Apart from Secretary Arvind Singh Hayanki, Dr. Ranjit Kumar Sinha and Dr. Pankaj Pandey, Chamoli District Magistrate was present in the meeting through video conferencing.
