The Labor Department will now take the responsibility of providing free technical education to the children of workers in the state. Along with technical education, students will also be given free accommodation and food. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is going to announce this on June 28. Workers registered with the Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (BOCW) of the Labor Department will be given its benefit. However, only 75 students will be selected in the state every year to gain knowledge of technical education. These students will be selected by a committee. The Labor Department is going to take this initiative to provide free education assistance to the children of workers interested in various courses of ITI or Polytechnic. Earlier, the Labor Department had started a digital learning bus to give basic knowledge to the children of workers living on construction sites, in which more than 400 children were given knowledge of education through digital technology in the bus. The department will now provide free education to 10th and 12th pass students to pursue various technical courses. Students will be provided with residential hostels as well as full meals. After this, after completing the technical course, they will also be given job placement in companies. After doing technical courses, students can also do self-employment.
CM Dhami will also launch digital learning bus
To give digital education to the children, the Labor Department has started digital learning bus in Nainital and Dehradun districts. Now on its lines, learning bus will also be started in Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar district, which will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on June 28. After this, the children of workers working in the construction site in both the districts will be given digital education by sitting inside the bus.
