Following the FIR, suspension action has also been taken against the female departmental assistant and home guard who took her out in the case of rape of a girl living in the child observation home of the Government Women Welfare and Rehabilitation Centre. On the orders of Child Development Minister Rekha Arya, assistant Deepa Arya has been suspended. Meanwhile, Home Guard Ganga has been sent back to her department with immediate effect. A two-member departmental inquiry committee has also been formed in the matter. Chief Probation Officer Mohit Chaudhary and Deputy Chief Probation Officer Anjana Gupta have been included in the investigation committee.
Allegation of being forced to do wrong
Between November 17 and December 12, the girl was taken once to the Women’s Hospital and twice to Dr. Sushila Tiwari Hospital for health checkup. During this time, the girl has accused him of taking her to another place near the hospital and forcing her to do wrong things there. On Friday, the judicial officer had inspected the child observation home. During this, the 15-year-old girl told the judicial officer that the institute’s attendant Deepa and home guard Ganga take her out. Where she is beaten and raped. Taking the complaint seriously, the judicial officer directed the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) to investigate and file an FIR. After midnight, CWC member Ravindra Rautela filed a complaint against Deepa and Ganga. Police registered an FIR against both of them under rape and POCSO Act. The investigation has been handed over to SI Jyoti Koranga.
Police investigation has now revealed that the girl is a resident of Udham Singh Nagar district. The girl, who ran away from home with her lover, was recovered by Udham Singh Nagar police from Delhi. Due to his refusal to accompany his relatives, he was sent to the observation home in Haldwani on November 8.
