District Magistrate Pauri Dr. Ashish Chauhan has asked the departmental officers to speed up the preparations for the upcoming Kanwar Yatra. He has given strict instructions to the departments to give action plan for Kanwar Yatra within a week. Along with this, parking and traffic management are the main priority during Kanwar Yatra and necessary steps have also been asked to be taken. In a meeting held at the DM Camp office located in Laxman Jhula on Monday, District Magistrate Dr. Ashish Chauhan learned about the preparations for the upcoming Kanwar Yatra. During this time, most of the departments said that the action plan was not ready.
Action plan sought in stipulated time
Expressing displeasure over the slowness of the departments, the DM said that it is necessary to complete the preparations for Kanwar Yatra in time. This will also provide sufficient time to review the systems and make necessary improvements. He asked all the departments to submit their action plan within the stipulated time. The DM also laid special emphasis on providing parking facilities at Laxman Jhula, Swargashram and Neelkanth Road. Said that non-availability of parking facilities also creates problems in traffic management. He also directed to remove encroachments and make necessary experiments for traffic management. Apart from this, the officials of the departments were asked to complete the tender process on time and MSDM Yamkeshwar Chatar Singh Chauhan was asked to ensure cleanliness in Neelkanth temple and walking path. Emphasis was laid on timely repair and proper management of drinking water lines. SDM Yamkeshwar Chatar Singh Chauhan, District Supply Officer KS Kohli, SDO Electricity Ravi Arora, Executive Engineer PWD DP Singh, Project Manager Ureda YS Bisht, Ranger Forest Rajesh Chandra Joshi and many others were present in the meeting.
DM angry over theft of street light
DM Dr. Ashish Chauhan expressed strong displeasure over the theft of street light on Baghkhal Yamkeshwar-Neelkanth road. He said that after installing street lights, it is the collective responsibility of the Forest Department, Energy Corporation and UREDA to ensure that the lights remain safe. DM gave instructions to install street lights on this route in time.
