The efforts of the Central and State Government in the field of renewable energy are showing results on the ground. People are showing great interest in the Grid Connected Rooftop Solar Power Plant Scheme in Uttarakhand.
Efforts are also being made by the government to implement the concept of solar in every house by giving 70 percent subsidy. Under the Behr Solar process, any domestic consumer can install a solar plant on his roof. More than one thousand applications are being received by the Energy Corporation every month in the state.
Adoption of solar energy increased across the country:
On the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the trend of adopting solar energy is increasing across the country. For this, the Grid Connected Rooftop Solar Power Plant scheme has been started by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy. It is being run in Uttarakhand under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. Under the scheme, 35 percent subsidy is being given to the consumer by the Central Government and 35 percent by the State Government.
Also, the consumers are being benefited by the easy registration process and quick action in setting up the plant. Depending on the power requirement and roof area, solar plants ranging from 1 kW to 10 kW can be easily installed.
Simple Application Process
Energy Corporation’s Managing Director Anil Kumar told that for this scheme, go to the central government’s portal www.solarrooftop.gov.in and register.
For this, you have to submit the electricity bill of the house and a copy of your Aadhaar card.
After this, the team of Uttarakhand Energy Corporation will come to your home and prepare the Technical Feasibility Report (TFR). In which other aspects including the area of the roof, the direction of planting the plant will be seen.
Due to the submission of the report, you will be provided with the list of vendors of the area. In which you can choose the lowest rate vendor from setting up the plant.
After this, on the establishment of the plant, the Energy Corporation, the vendor and the consumer all three will have to sign the work completion certificate. This certificate will be uploaded on the central government portal and the subsidy money will come directly into the consumer’s account.
This much subsidy will be given:
A subsidy of Rs 17662 per kilowatt will be given by the central government on plants from one kilowatt to 10 kilowatts. While the state government will give subsidy of Rs 17662 from one kilowatt to three kilowatts and Rs 8831 per kilowatt on plants above three kilowatts.
4000 MW electricity will be available in a three kilowatt plant. To set up a solar plant, 100 feet per kilowatt space is required in the roof.
About 4000 MW of electricity is produced from the three kilowatt plant in a year. In this, the consumer can consume the electricity he needs and sell it to the Energy Corporation through net metering.
The plant normally works for 25 years. In this, 10 years guarantee is also given by the vendor.
