Yoga will also be celebrated in Ganga villages of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand on June 21, on International Yoga Day. This time, the National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) has set a target of connecting 20 lakh people through yoga programs in the ghats built on the Ganga and its tributaries across the country.
In the same order, in Uttarakhand, which is the origin of Ganga, the exercise has been intensified regarding this. All District Ganga Committees have been instructed to connect more and more people with the Ganges through yoga. In this, special focus has been asked on Ganga villages.

For the cleanliness and purity of the national river Ganga, steps are being taken to connect more and more people with Ganga through the ambitious Namami Gange program being run under NMCG. For this purpose, NMCG has decided to give a comprehensive form of yoga practice in the ghats of Ganga and its tributaries on the theme of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam: One World, One Health’ on International Yoga Day.
Its outline has also been decided in Uttarakhand. According to Puran Chandra Kapri, the nodal officer of this program in the state, the target is to connect more than one lakh people in the state. The aim is that people should connect with river conservation along with yoga. If the people remain healthy, they will also keep the rivers healthy. In this episode, special emphasis has been laid on Ganga villages.
Main program of Yoga Day at Jageshwar Dham:
In Uttarakhand, the state government is also engaged in preparations for Yoga Day. The main program of Yoga Day will be held at the famous Jageshwar Dham in Kumaon Mandal, which will be attended by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. Apart from this, there will be programs of yoga exercises on Yoga Day in all government, non-government institutions, educational institutions.
Last year, 10 lakh people joined on Yoga Day under Namami Gange. This time the target has been doubled. More than 1600 meetings have been held with all the District Ganga Committees in the country. A letter is also being issued to all the DMs to ensure yoga programs in the ghats built on the Ganga and its tributaries. For this they will also be given some support.

As per the directions of NMCG, Yoga programs will be organized in all the districts of Uttarakhand through District Ganga Committees on the banks of Ganga ghats and rivers. All DMs have been directed regarding this. They have also been told that by organizing yoga programs in Ganga villages, more and more people should be associated with it. Emphasis will be laid on ensuring participation of common people in cleaning Ganga in these villages.
