Doon Police has arrested the land mafia who was absconding in land fraud and was carrying a reward of Rs 5,000 from Muzaffarnagar. Accused Dheeraj Pawar is originally a resident of Purkaji Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh and had rented a room in Idgah Chowk Subhash Nagar in Dehradun. Two associates of the accused have already been sent to jail. The accused had cheated Rs 4.5 crore from the complainant in the name of selling someone’s disputed land in Clementtown area. Three cases including Arms Act are registered against the accused in Clementtown police station and several cases of land fraud are also registered in Muzaffarnagar. A complaint of land fraud was lodged at Clementown police station on May 17.
Deal finalized for eleven and a half crore rupees
Complainant Ashok Aggarwal, resident of Laxman Jhula Pauri Garhwal told the police that Sameer Kamyab along with other associates showed him someone’s disputed land in Clementtown. For this, he prepared fake documents of the said land and finalized the deal for Rs 11.5 crore.
Land found disputed during investigation
The accused took Rs 4.5 crore from him as advance amount in the name of getting the land registered and decided to pay the remaining amount after the registration. After several days had passed, when the accused did not do the registration, they investigated the said land, in which the said land was found to be in someone else’s name and was said to be disputed. On this he complained to the police.
Reward of five thousand rupees declared on the accused
The police registered a case in the case and started searching for the accused and arrested Sameer Kamyab and one of his associates Rohit Pandey a few months ago. Whereas, his other friend Dheeraj was absconding. After obtaining a non-bailable warrant from the court against Dheeraj, Senior Superintendent of Police, Dehradun had announced a reward of Rs 5,000.
On the information of informer, accused Dheeraj was arrested from Muzaffarnagar on Tuesday. The accused was produced in the court on Wednesday and sent to jail.
