The dream of a permanent house for the families of the weaker income group in the state will be fulfilled. The state government is constructing about 16 thousand cheap houses for poor families through Uttarakhand Housing Development Council and MDDA under the PM Housing Scheme. Due to the rise in land prices and increasing cost of construction, a permanent house has become a dream for the families of the weaker income group. Now the state government is going to add colour to this dream. The special thing is that for the first time after the formation of the state, Uttarakhand Housing Development Council is working on its housing projects.
14635 houses have been allotted
The council is working on 15 projects in collaboration with private investors. A total of 12,856 houses are included in this. The remaining five projects are being developed by the respective development authorities. The authorities will prepare a total of 3104 houses. According to Additional Commissioner Housing PC Dumka, so far 1760 houses have been built with private participation and handed over to the beneficiaries. 14635 houses have been allotted.
The target has been set to complete all the remaining projects by March 2025. He said that in the affordable housing scheme, a private investor builds a house with facilities like two rooms, kitchen and toilet at a cost of six lakh rupees. In this, three and a half lakh rupees are received from various schemes of the central and state government and the beneficiary gets a house through easy home loan at a cost of just two and a half lakhs. Private investors themselves bear all the expenses of construction including land. Homeless families with an annual income of less than three lakh rupees are eligible for this scheme. It is necessary for the eligible family to be a resident of the state before June 15, 2015. Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) has completed projects of 224 flats in Transport Nagar and 240 flats in Tarla Amwala under the scheme. 240 flats in Dhaulas will be ready by March 2025. MDDA Vice President Banshidhar Tiwari said that the beneficiaries for the project have been selected with transparency. The keys of the flat will be handed over to everyone within the stipulated time.
