The stalled recruitment process for 1250 vacant posts under elementary education has started. After getting permission from the government to start the recruitment process on these vacant posts, Director of Elementary Education RK Uniyal held a meeting of officials on Tuesday. In which preparations for starting recruitment on vacant posts were discussed. The primary education recruitment process was stopped for the candidates doing D.El.Ed from NIOS from going to the court, but after the order of the Supreme Court on November 28, the government started the stalled recruitment process.
The controversy regarding recruitment first started from 15 November 2021, when the government issued an order to include the candidates doing D.El.Ed from National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) in the ongoing recruitment of 2,639 posts in elementary education. This order was strongly opposed by the B.Ed trainees, after which the state government canceled this order after some time. Due to which the candidates doing D.El.Ed from NIOS got angry and they went to the High Court against this decision of the government. In this matter, the High Court ruled in favor of D.El.Ed candidates from NIOS and passed orders to include them in the recruitment process.
But this decision of the High Court was challenged in the Supreme Court by the state government and the B.Ed Trained Primary Federation through separate petitions. On November 28, the Supreme Court did not consider NIOS D.El.Ed trained as equivalent to B.Ed holders. After which the way was cleared to start the stalled recruitment process on vacant posts in the Elementary Education Department. Director of Elementary Education RK Uniyal said that a meeting of all District Education Officers (DEOs) has been called on Wednesday regarding the recruitment process for vacant posts. In which the possibilities of organizing counseling on the same day will be discussed.
