Torrential rain continues for the fifth consecutive day, PM Modi knows the condition of Uttarakhand
Torrential rains continued in Uttarakhand for the fifth consecutive day on Tuesday. Rain continued in most areas including Dehradun from Monday night till Tuesday morning. On the other hand, the weather remained clear for two to three hours on Monday morning, but by afternoon, it rained again in most of the areas.
There are chances of heavy rains in the state for the next two days. In 11 districts Dehradun, Tehri, Uttarkashi, Pauri, Chamoli, Pithoragarh, Champawat, Almora, Bageshwar, Nainital and Udham Singh Nagar, all schools and Anganwadi centers up to class 12 will remain closed on Tuesday.
The Prime Minister took information from the Chief Minister on the phone
The Jumma Nala was in spate due to excessive rainfall in the high Himalayan region of the Niti Valley situated on the Indo-China border. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inquired about the situation over telephone from Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. The Chief Minister informed him in detail about the effect on the obstructed roads and Char Dham and Kanwar Yatra, crops.
Dehradun SSP issued instructions
In view of the incessant rains in Dehradun, SSP Dalip Singh Kunwar has issued guidelines to all station in-charges and outpost in-charges. It has been said that all police station/outpost in-charges need to be on high alert mode in view of rain in their respective areas and immediate action needs to be taken on the following points on priority.
Keep available resources in ready position for available relief and rescue operations.
Identify trained personnel in disaster and rescue operations, keep them on high alert and in ready position in view of any contingency.

There will be water-logging conditions in the cities and towns due to continuous rains, so traffic management should be effective and diversion should be ensured effectively.
There is a possibility of torrential rain till 2 pm today, so more people will travel in four wheelers and there will be more vehicles on the road today than normal days. Therefore, all in-charges will ensure traffic management effectively.
Today everyone will do duty by wearing raincoat, the use of umbrella should be minimized and information about any emergency will be immediately conveyed to all the concerned through control centers.
In view of any contingency, the identification of shelter homes (school, college, dharamshala etc.) should be done in advance by establishing coordination with the local administration.
