Urban Development Minister Dr. Prem Chand Aggarwal held a review meeting with officials regarding the ongoing development works under Smart City in the office room of the Legislative Assembly. The Minister said that most of the ongoing development works under Smart City have been completed, the major ones being Water ATM, Smart Bus, beautification and drainage work of Paltan Bazaar, CCTV cameras, road construction and sewerage. He also directed the officials to complete the remaining works of road construction, sewerage and drainage as soon as possible.
The Minister said that under the sewerage works, sewerage work at Lansdowne Chowk has been completed. Sewerage work from Aggarwal Dharamshala to Pathribagh is in progress. He said that under Smart City, about 24 water ATMs are functioning across the city. The minister said that 30 smart buses are being operated in the city which has generated a revenue of about Rs 5.63 crore. He said that the revenue of the electric bus running between the airport and Dehradun city has been relatively low, to increase it there is a need to increase the number of stoppages. He said that a decision regarding the above will be taken in the next board meeting.
While directing the officials, the Minister said that the remaining works under Smart City should be completed as soon as possible before the Investors Summit to be held in the month of December. He instructed the officials to conduct on-site inspection of the works being done under the Smart City from time to time and to speed up the quality work.
