From the center to the state government, everyone seems committed to the promotion of Ayurveda. While the central government is taking steps towards establishing Ayush Aushadhi Kendra at every district, village and tehsil level to make all the medicines of Ayurveda available at one place, Uttarakhand is working to implement the country’s first yoga policy. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the Yoga Policy will play an important role in bringing a new revolution in the field of health by taking Ayurveda and Yoga together on a wide scale. Inaugurating the 10th World Ayurveda Congress and Arogya Expo at Parade Ground on Thursday, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state government is also continuously working for the promotion of Ayurveda. 300 Ayush-based Ayushman Arogya Kendras are being operated in the state. 50-bed and 10-bed hospitals are being established in each district. Efforts are being made to promote Ayurvedic herbs by establishing one village in every district as a model AYUSH village. AYUSH policy has been formulated in the state. The government is working to establish 50 new yoga and wellness centers along with starting AYUSH tele-consultation. The Chief Minister said that the state government has requested the Center to establish an All India Institute of Ayurveda in Uttarakhand. This institute will prove to be a milestone in the field of Ayurveda education and research. He called upon experts to promote the herbs of Uttarakhand with English names along with Hindi names. Union Minister of State for AYUSH (Independent Charge) Pratap Rao Jadhav said that people of India prefer Ayurvedic treatment, but even in villages, doctors prescribe allopathic medicines more. One reason for this is the lack of Ayurvedic medicines and it is difficult to get medicines for all diseases at one place. In such a situation, efforts are being made to establish AYUSH medicine centers at every district, village and tehsil level. With the opening of such centers, AYUSH doctors will be able to prescribe medicines easily. Many experts including Ayush Ministry Secretary Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha were present in the program.
