The weather remains dry in the plains of Uttarakhand, due to which the mercury has started increasing. In most areas the maximum temperature has reached one-two degrees Celsius above normal. Whereas, the minimum mercury is two to three degrees Celsius below normal. Due to which the weather is pleasant in the morning and evening. At the same time, partial clouds are hovering in the mountainous areas and there are chances of rain. According to the Meteorological Center, the weather in the state may change today. There are chances of cloudy sky and light showers in the mountainous areas. Whereas, there has been a warning of thundershowers and hailstorm at some places in the low-lying areas.
The mercury rose two degrees Celsius within 24 hours
There was bright sunshine in Doon since Friday morning. However, partial clouds started hovering in the sky in the afternoon. Despite this, the maximum temperature increased and the mercury rose by two degrees Celsius within 24 hours. Which is more than normal. However, the minimum temperature remained two degrees Celsius below normal. At the same time, clouds started appearing in the surrounding areas from the evening. According to Bikram Singh, Director of Meteorological Center, the weather patterns in the state may remain changeable for the next three days. It may remain cloudy especially in the mountainous areas. There may be lightning along with thunder in Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Pithoragarh. Along with rain, there is a possibility of hailstorm at many places in the state. Whereas, a yellow alert has been issued regarding thunderstorms in low-lying areas.
