Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that 117 modern madrassas of the state identified under Uttarakhand Waqf Board will be operated in the name of former President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. A proposal has been sought from the Waqf Board in this regard. Uttarakhand Minority Commission Chairman Dr. RK Jain demanded from Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami a hostel for the students studying in the Madrasa located in Bharuwala.
Apart from this, there was a demand to appoint the officers of Minority Department in the district instead of posting them in the headquarters. The Chief Minister assured action on this. On Monday, Uttarakhand Minority Commission and Police Department celebrated World Minority Rights Day in the auditorium of Himalayan Cultural Center located at Lemunwala in Garhi Cantt.
117 modern madrasas will be operated
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, who participated in the program as the chief guest, said that from the new year, 117 modern madrassas are to be operated in the state by the Uttarakhand Waqf Board. A proposal has been made by the Waqf Board to run modern madrassas in the name of former President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. Apart from this, Uniform Citizenship Code law will be implemented soon. It is not the objective of the government to oppress any particular class.
The objective of the government is to protect the interests of minorities.
CM Dhami said that the government is trying to protect the interests of minorities. Chief Minister Hunar Vikas Yojana is being run for the welfare of minorities. Under this scheme, self-employment is being provided to the weaker sections along with training. Scholarships and interest free loans for self-employment are being provided to meritorious students. Uttarakhand Waqf Board Chairman Shadab Shams said that modern madrassas are to be operated from April.

A public awareness campaign is being run regarding the rights of the minority community.
