Raipur police station has arrested 13 accused who were betting online in the Legends Cricket League match organized at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Uttarakhand. 17 mobile phones used for online betting and some cash have been recovered from the accused. Six lakh rupees have been frozen in his 20 accounts.
All the accused are residents of Jammu and Kashmir, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh. SSP Ajay Singh said that Raipur police station had received information about betting in the ongoing match between Gujarat Giants and Urbanizers Hyderabad at the cricket stadium in Raipur on Sunday.
Police gathered information and arrested 13 accused. The accused have been identified as Shabi Al Hasan Jafri resident of village Gursayi police station Harni district Poonch Jammu Kashmir, Shivkant and Gaurav Singh both residents of village Kotra, Piani district Hardoi UP, Kshitij resident of Govindpuri Delhi, Manohar Lal, Ankit Kumar, Suraj, Chandan, Abhishek, Ajay all. Apart from Shahnawaz resident of district Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh, Muntaj resident of Khatakhedi Islamabad police station Mandi district Saharanpur, Aniket Chauhan resident of Pandarpur, district Sitapur Maharashtra.
