Under the Prime Minister Internship Scheme, companies working in Uttarakhand have proposed to train 1796 youths. In view of this, the government has sent letters to all the districts and departments asking them to promote this scheme as well as take applications from the youth for it. The nodal department of this scheme has been made the Skill Development Department. Youth from 10th pass to graduation and ITI can become eligible under this scheme. The Prime Minister Internship Scheme has been started by the Central Government with the aim of preparing the youth of the country for jobs. Under the scheme, applicants will be given a chance to do internship in the top 500 companies of the country. In the letter issued by the Chief Secretary, it has been told that only youth aged 21 to 24 years will be eligible for the Prime Minister Internship Scheme. The condition is also that only those youths who are not in any full-time employment, education and no member of their family is in government service and whose family income does not exceed eight lakhs will be eligible for this. The selected youths will also be given a monthly allowance of five thousand rupees, out of which Rs 4500 will be provided by the Union Ministry of Corporate Affairs and Rs 500 by the concerned company. Apart from this, six thousand rupees will also be given by the government as a one-time assistance. The Chief Secretary has directed all the districts and departments to take action on this by November 15 and inform the government.
