The government is taking serious steps towards the treatment of the disaster-affected area of Joshimath city of Chamoli district, which is facing the brunt of the landslide disaster. In this episode, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved a scheme of Rs 516 crore for slope stabilization in the disaster-affected area of Joshimath. Along with this, the proposal to release an amount of 40 crores as the first installment has also been approved. Apart from this, other schemes worth Rs 255 crore have also been approved in the state.
200 crores approved for Jal Jeevan Mission
The Chief Minister has also approved the release of Rs 200 crore to speed up the works of Jal Jeevan Mission, which is being run with the aim of providing tap water to every house in rural areas. This approval has been given through reappropriation in anticipation of the amount to be received as central share from the Central Government. The Chief Minister has also approved the release of Rs 3.5 crore to the Drinking Water Corporation under NABARD, State Sector and Ring Fencing programs and Rs 1.5 crore to Uttarakhand Jal Sansthan to strengthen the drinking water system in the state.
Rs 40.49 crore for 52 Devbhoomi Silver Jubilee Parks in cities
To mark the completion of 25 years of the establishment of the state of Uttarakhand, it has been decided to build Devbhoomi Silver Jubilee Parks in all the cities. In this sequence, the Chief Minister has approved Rs 40.49 crore for the construction of 52 Devbhoomi Silver Jubilee Parks in the area of various municipal bodies. Apart from this, a scheme of Rs 11 crore has also been approved for the strengthening and safety works of Ramjhula Setu located at Muni Ki Reti under Narendranagar Assembly constituency in Tehri district.
Dearness allowance increased for employees receiving fifth and sixth pay scale
The Chief Minister has approved the increase in dearness allowance (DA) of employees receiving fifth and sixth pay scale of the state government and state autonomous bodies and undertakings, giving relief to them. Under this, the DA of employees receiving fifth and sixth pay scale will be increased from 455 percent to 466 percent from January 1. The DA of employees receiving sixth pay scale will be increased from 246 percent to 252 percent.
