Improvement will be seen in the level of elementary education in the state. The cabinet decided to convert 603 government primary and 76 government upper primary schools into centers of excellence. All facilities like smart class, computer lab, furniture will be made available in these schools.
The state government is now paying special attention to the quality of education. In view of the decreasing number of students in government primary and upper primary schools and the decreasing interest of parents, the government is now forced to take steps for qualitative improvement. In view of this, it has been decided to make such government primary and upper primary schools of the state excellent, where the number of students is good.
Seeing the good perception of the local community towards the schools, the government decided to develop 679 primary and upper primary schools as centers of excellence in education. From sitting in the classrooms, all other necessary facilities will be available to the students studying in these schools.
New classrooms can be constructed in the school buildings. These 679 schools of the state will be gifted with many physical resources and facilities within a radius of five km.
30 temporary posts will be created in Public Service Commission
In view of the increasing work of the Public Service Commission, the government has decided to create 30 new temporary posts here. Personnel will be appointed on these posts on contract basis. These posts are being created for one year.
Arrangement will remain same in campus made colleges:
In another decision of the cabinet, six government engineering colleges operated under the technical education department will now be the campus of Veer Madho Singh Bhandari Uttarakhand Technological University. These include Institute of Technology Gopeshwar, Women’s Institute of Technology Dehradun, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Institute of Technology Tanakpur, Nanhi Pari Frontier Institute of Technology Pithoragarh, THDC-IHT New Tehri and Bonn Engineering College Uttarkashi.
The cabinet has given its approval to these colleges on as-is-where-is basis with certain conditions. All these self-financed institutions will not be given financial assistance from the state government. Along with this, the Board of Directors (BOG) in all the institutions will continue to function as usual.
Subaltern personnel will get incentive on monthly basis:
The cabinet has now decided to give incentive amount on monthly basis to the subaltern employees. In the state, till now, the incentive allowance is being given to the employees on quarterly basis. Under this, Rs 17,400 is given to personnel who have completed 10 years of service and Rs 14,400 to those with less than 10 years of service.
A decision was taken in this regard earlier as well, but then the Finance Department had objected to it. Since then, the sewer workers were demanding monthly incentive amount. In such a situation, the cabinet has now decided to give them an incentive of Rs 5800 and Rs 4800 per month.
The housing department gave a presentation on the building map in the cabinet meeting, regarding the approval of the maps of the buildings to be constructed along the highways in the hilly areas, the housing department gave a detailed presentation. If sources are to be believed, referring to the Joshimath incident, it was said to activate the District Development Authorities in the mountainous areas being developed from tourism and industrial point of view.
It was said that to speed up the development in these areas in a planned manner, building maps should be made mandatory. In this, from the point of view of traffic, it was said to make maps for the construction of buildings along the roads. For this, a radius of 200 meters was proposed, on which consensus could not be reached in the cabinet.

Exemption in compounding fee of 65 lakhs in the residential scheme of Tibetan refugees in Tarla Nagal, Dehradun.
Approval for changes in the structural structure of the Irrigation Department. Approval given to 24 posts of Research Officer and 12 posts of Assistant Research Officer.
As per the instructions of the High Court, the notification to constitute Sirauli Kalan as Nagar Panchayat was withdrawn.
