Athletes Himanshu Kumar and Sachin Singh Bohra met Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at Chief Minister’s residence on Wednesday. Himanshu Kumar won gold medal in 5 km walk race and Sachin Singh Bohra won silver medal in 10 km walk race.
Extending best wishes to both the athletes for the upcoming competitions, the Chief Minister said that they should continue to bring laurels to the state in the future as well. Wishing the players a bright future, he said that the state government would provide all possible help in training the talented players.
Glorious victory of Udham Singh Nagar and Haridwar:
Udham Singh Nagar and Haridwar won their respective matches in the state level school boys under-19 cricket competition. In the ongoing competition at Maharana Pratap Sports College, the first match was played between Udham Singh Nagar and Haridwar on Wednesday.
Udham Singh Nagar batting first scored 134 runs losing four wickets in 15 overs. Suraj scored maximum 58 and Anuj scored 25 runs. Akarsh took two wickets for Haridwar. Chasing the target, Haridwar’s team could score only 105 runs after losing seven wickets in the stipulated over.
The second match was played between Haridwar and Champawat. Playing first, Haridwar scored 190 runs losing three wickets in 15 overs. Mo. Kaif scored 60, Sethu 43 and Sumit scored 21 runs. Chasing the target, Champawat’s team collapsed for just 43 runs in 13 overs. Harshit contributed 19 and Anshul contributed 17 runs.
For Haridwar, Shivam took four wickets and Karan Singh took three wickets. In the third match, Udham Singh Nagar batting first scored 160 runs losing three wickets in 15 overs. Uday scored 66, Jatin scored 37 and Suraj scored 27 runs. Chasing the target, Champawat’s team was reduced to 67 runs in 9.3 overs. Harshit contributed 28 and Surendra contributed 19 runs.
