Said that by setting a new standard for the tourism industry in the country, the International Yoga Festival and Char Dham Yatra will take the tourism industry to new heights. Maharaj said this at the Tourism Summit organized in New Delhi.
Maharaj said that in the registration process for Char Dham Yatra which started from Tuesday, about one lakh devotees have been registered so far. The administration has ensured proper health check-up of the devotees coming for the Char Dham Yatra.
For the expansion of passenger facilities, the work of ongoing projects in Kedarnath and Badrinath Dham will be completed before the start of the yatra. He said that the state government has made Shaiva, Shakta, Vaishnav, Navagraha, Golju, Narsingh, Gurudwara, Hanuman, Nag Devta, Swami Vivekananda and other circuits for the travelers coming to Uttarakhand.
Preparations complete for Yoga Festival:
Preparations have been completed for the upcoming Yoga Festival. International Yoga Festival is being organized in Rishikesh from March 1 to 7. Yogacharyas from the country’s famous yoga institutes Isha Foundation, Art of Living, Krishnamachari Yoga Mandiram, Kaivalyadham, Sivananda Ashram will participate in it.
The tourism department has also started an incentive scheme for tour operators to ensure the arrival of more and more tourists from abroad in the yoga festival. Recently tourism related roadshows were organized in four cities of Gujarat. Now roadshows are being planned in different states.
Union Minister of State for Culture Arjun Ram Meghwal, Himachal Pradesh Industries Minister Harshvardhan Chauhan, Tourism Secretary Arvind Singh, Chairman RTDC Dharmendra Rathod and Raj Chengappa were also present at the tourism summit and award ceremony.
