Dhami 2.0 one year report card big decisions from anti copying law to uniform civil code

admin March 23, 2023

The BJP government led by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is going to complete one year of its second term on Thursday. During this period, Chief Minister Dhami has made a meaningful effort to draw a long line by taking big and far-reaching decisions. Along with this, an attempt was made to give the message that whatever the government says, it is implemented on the ground.

Changes in law to stop forced conversions:
Whether it is the exercise started to implement Uniform Civil Code in the state or strict changes in the law to prevent forced conversions or strict anti-copying law for the purity of recruitment examinations. These are decisions that will have far-reaching consequences. Not only this, the government has also taken many big decisions like 30 percent reservation for women in state services, 10 percent horizontal reservation in government services for state building agitators.
win by two-thirds
Chief Minister Dhami may have got very less time in the first term, but even then his performance was better. In the year 2022 assembly elections, BJP presented him as its face. Although Dhami himself lost his seat, the party managed to come to power for the second time in a row with a majority of more than two-thirds.

All classes and areas were taken care of:
This was also the reason that the central leadership gave him an opportunity again and Chief Minister Dhami not only took it as a challenge, but also tried to justify his selection by taking big decisions one after the other. Although, during the last about eight months, cases of malpractices in the recruitment examinations did come to the fore, but without looking at any period, the government took a quick decision and gave a message that it will not allow any kind of atrocity on the interests of the youth. In the tenure of one year so far, the Dhami government has taken decisions keeping in mind all classes and regions.
Uniform Civil Code:
During the assembly elections, the Chief Minister had announced that a Uniform Civil Code would be implemented in the state. In the first cabinet of the Dhami government after coming back to power, it was decided to form a committee to prepare the draft of the Uniform Civil Code in the state.

Composition of the Committee:
The committee has taken suggestions from all sections of the state through online, offline and other mediums. The committee has received more than three lakh suggestions, which are being examined. Due to this, the tenure of the committee was extended by six months. It is expected that the committee will hand over the draft to the government by May-June. Not only this, taking inspiration from the state, Gujarat has also formed a committee with a view to implement the Uniform Civil Code.
Amendment to the Freedom of Religion Act:
In order to curb forcible conversion to Devbhoomi in the changed circumstances, the Dhami government has amended the Freedom of Religion Act and made it stricter. In this, provision has been made for 10 years of imprisonment and a fine of Rs 50,000 in cases of forced conversion. Also, it has been kept in the category of non-bailable offence. The intention of the government behind this is that by coming here from outside, the elements involved in undesirable activities can be effectively curbed.

Strict Anti-Copying Laws:
Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission’s graduate level exam paper leak episode started with the issue of disturbances in the recruitment examinations has been in headlines for the last few months. There have been complaints of rigging in examinations one after the other. Although, as soon as these cases came to light, the government took steps to investigate them, till now many people have reached behind the bars of the jail.

Provision for life imprisonment:
Along with this, the government has brought a strict anti-copying law so that the future of the youth is not played with in future recruitment examinations. It is being called the most stringent anti-copying law in the country. In this, along with fine up to 10 crores and life imprisonment, many provisions have been made.

30 percent reservation for women:
It is not hidden from anyone that the mother power here has played an important role in the state building. Even after the formation of the state, the mother power is playing its active role in the development of the state. Especially in the hilly areas, women are said to be the backbone of the development there. In view of all this, the Dhami government has re-implemented the system of 30 percent reservation for the women here in the state services. Now it has been brought under the legal ambit.

Zero tolerance on corruption:
In its second term, the BJP government has adopted a policy of zero tolerance towards corruption. 1064 app has been launched on the instructions of Chief Minister Dhami. Action is being taken on the complaints received through this. So far, four bureaucrats have been suspended on complaints of disproportionate assets, financial irregularities and other irregularities, while eight are in jail.

Horizontal Reservation for Agitators:
The Dhami government has also re-implemented the system of 10 percent horizontal reservation in government jobs for the Uttarakhand state construction agitators. There was a demand for this for a long time, which the government has happily accepted.
These decisions were also taken
Development of mythological and ancient temples of Kumaon under Manaskhand Mandir Mala Mission on the lines of Kedarnath and Badrinath.
Apart from developing the Garhwal divisional headquarters Pauri according to its past, arrangement for regular seating of divisional officers there.
With the help of the global agency, in view of doubling the state’s gross domestic product in five years.
Proper provision of budget for agriculture and horticulture in the primary sector.
