In Uttarakhand, the Forest Department, which was lax in action against encroachment on forest land, has lost its sleep. After the strictness of the Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the exercise to free the government land from encroachment has intensified in the state. Encroachment has been removed from about 280 acres of land in the last three days. Encroachment was removed from 190 acres of land in the western circle alone on Friday.
Action to remove encroachments on forest land has been intensified in the state. The campaign of the Forest Department has intensified on the information of cultivation and illegal construction on government land in the forest area. Encroachment freed 223 acres of forest land in the areas of Haldwani, Ramnagar, Terai Forest Division under the western circle located in Haldwani on Friday and the encroachers were driven out of the forest.
Chief Conservator of Forests Anoop Malik himself is monitoring the encroachment removal campaign being run on a war footing. Along with this, the Chief Minister is also being continuously informed about the campaign. The nodal officer of the campaign, Dr. Parag Madhukar Dhakate said that in the last three days, on the basis of satellite evidence, encroachment is being marked and the land is being made free.
Told that almost every hour the encroachment is being removed from three acres of forest land. Two and a half acres of forest land has also been vacated from Rajaji Tiger Reserve. Apart from this, in the middle of National Highway 109 in Kedarnath Forest Division, in Dugtam Tok Van Panchayat Maroda (Diwalikhal), the work of construction of dhaba was stopped and forest workers of Lohwa forest area Gairsain demolished. Apart from this, 10 shops built on forest land were also removed in Garhwal Forest Division.
