Now those who break traffic rules in Uttarakhand will not be spared! 5514 vehicles challaned under ‘surveillance from the sky’

admin October 5, 2024

Drivers are often seen breaking traffic rules due to lack of police personnel at the intersections. Especially no one cares about not wearing helmets and zebra crossings. They do not know that they are being monitored from the air by drones, and they are being challaned for breaking traffic rules.

Attempts to deal with traffic jams with the help of drones

Traffic police is taking the help of drones to make the traffic system organized. On one hand, drones are helping in organizing traffic jams, on the other hand, challan action is being taken against drivers who violate traffic rules.

Drones are constantly monitoring zebra crossings at intersections and crossroads. People crossing the road have to face a lot of inconvenience due to violation of zebra crossings. Considering its seriousness, the traffic police issued challans through drones to 2525 drivers who violated the zebra crossing line in eight months from January to September.

Challans for those without helmets too

Similarly, with the help of drones, continuous monitoring is being done on those who drive without helmets. Some drivers are entering the city without helmets by taking cuts through lanes to avoid the eyes of the police, who are being monitored by drones. Helmet plays a major role in preventing head injuries in road accidents. There are chances of a person getting serious injuries due to this. The traffic police issued challans through drones against 864 drivers who were driving two-wheelers without helmets in eight months. Apart from this, 2125 challans were issued for other crimes.

85 people die every month in road accidents
85 people die in 142 road accidents every month. Most of the drivers are losing their lives due to not wearing helmets. This is the reason why helmets have been made mandatory for the driver and the pillion rider. If we look at the statistics from January to July, 600 people lost their lives in 1008 accidents in the state while 848 people were injured. Every year the statistics of accidents and deaths due to accidents are increasing.
