In view of the increasing number of tourists in Uttarakhand, the government has now focused on ensuring the availability of residential facilities. In this episode, there is a preparation to change the rules of the Home Stay Scheme operating in the state. Under this, a maximum of 12 rooms can be there in a home stay. Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj has given instructions to the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Council in this regard. Till now the maximum standard in a home stay is six rooms. While the home stay scheme has opened the doors of self-employment in the mountainous areas of the state, residential facilities are also being made available to tourists. Especially the home stays established around the tourist places along the Chardham Yatra routes are playing an important role in this.
Increase in residential facilities for tourists
Tourists staying in home stays are getting acquainted with the culture here along with tasting the local cuisine. In view of all this, the government has now decided to expand this scheme further, so that more and more employment opportunities are created. Also, there should be an increase in residential facilities for tourists. According to the rules of homestay, the person who converts the house into a homestay will stay there with his family. He can use a maximum of six and a minimum of one room for homestay. The government gives subsidy for the construction or renovation of these rooms. Now its standards are being changed.
According to Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj, the standard of maximum six rooms in homestay will be increased to 12. In this regard, instructions have been given to the officials of Uttarakhand Tourism Development Council to change the rules.
