The police department has come into action after Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s instructions to take action regarding spit jihad. In line with the instructions of the DGP, Doon Police has started raiding hotels, restaurants and dhabas by running a campaign in the city. SSP Ajay Singh himself is checking the kitchen arrangements of hotels. Cleanliness and CCTV cameras were checked by running a comprehensive campaign in all police station areas. All establishments have been asked to ensure CCTV cameras in the kitchens. During this, the operator of the establishment was encouraged by giving flowers if better cleanliness was found in the kitchen.
Comprehensive verification and checking campaign conducted
SSP Ajay Singh has instructed all the police stations to check the cleanliness system, hygiene and status of CCTV cameras installed in the kitchens of all the establishments selling beverages and food items including hotels/dhabas/food vans located in their area. In compliance with which, police teams and Gaura Cheeta Unit of all police station areas of the city and rural areas of the district conducted a comprehensive verification and checking campaign. During this, awareness was created to install CCTV cameras in the kitchen area of hotels / dhabas / restaurants, to pay special attention to cleanliness and hygiene. Also, the establishments in which excellent cleanliness and security arrangements were found were honored with flowers to encourage them. Senior Superintendent of Police Ajay Singh himself conducted the campaign in Patel Nagar police station area. During the campaign, 1047 establishments were inspected in the entire district. Out of which action was taken against 135 operators under the Police Act for dirt found in their establishments. Whereas, action was taken against 127 operators for not getting the employees verified.
Strict legal provisions will be made to curb spit jihad
Dehradun: The state government is moving forward with strictness to curb spit jihad. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed the officials to take such cases seriously. In line with the instructions of the Chief Minister, Director General of Police Abhinav Kumar has issued guidelines to the Senior Superintendents of Police of all districts to stop such incidents. In the recent past, many cases of spit jihad have come to light in the state. Incidents of spitting in food items have come to light in these. Director General of Police Abhinav Kumar has written a letter to the Senior Superintendents of Police of all districts and railways and has instructed them to take appropriate steps to stop incidents of spitting in food and beverages in commercial institutions like hotels and dhabas etc.
