The central government is providing all possible help to disaster-sensitive Uttarakhand. In this, an amount of Rs 139 crore has also come in the bag of Uttarakhand. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Shah for this central help. The high-level committee headed by Union Home Minister Shah approved the National Landslide Risk Reduction Projects for 15 states including Uttarakhand. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the amount of Rs 139 crore received by Uttarakhand in this head will strengthen the disaster risk reduction system in the state. This will help in reducing any major loss of life and property during the disaster.

60 MW electricity will be available from solar plants by the year 2026
Solar energy in the state will also become a major source of income for the government in the coming years. The Energy Corporation will have to deposit the income from the additional electricity obtained from the solar power plants being installed in government buildings in the government treasury. For this, the corporation will enter into power purchase contracts with the departments. At present, nine megawatts of solar energy is being produced in 305 government buildings. The target is to increase it to 60 megawatts by the year 2026. The government is encouraging solar energy in the state. For this, financial assistance is also being provided in the form of subsidy for setting up solar power plants in both government and private sectors. Installing solar plants has been made mandatory especially in government buildings. Not only this, the expenditure incurred on setting up the plant will be added to the construction cost of government buildings. Instructions have been given to the Public Works Department for this. At present, solar plants of nine megawatt capacity have been installed in 307 government buildings. In the financial year 2024-25, installation of solar plants is proposed in 1965 government buildings. Their proposals have been received. A budget of Rs 100 crore has been kept for this in the current financial year. Additional Chief Secretary Finance Anand Bardhan said that the Energy Corporation is getting additional electricity from the solar plants installed in government buildings. The corporation will have to deposit this income in the government treasury. Instructions have been given to the departmental officers in this regard. Especially the Energy Corporation is receiving electricity in excess of its consumption from government buildings. In this regard, now the Energy Corporation has to enter into a power purchase contract with the concerned department. The government will also get income from this additional electricity. The guide line related to this scheme will also be amended.
