Uttarakhand is a sensitive state in terms of disasters and accidents. Providing immediate medical assistance to patients in critical condition has also been a big challenge. In such a situation, emergency trauma care network is now being established in the state. Under this, an injured person will be referred directly to the hospital where treatment facility will be available according to his need. An app is also being developed, so that the medical staff of the health center nearest to the incident spot gets an immediate alert. At the same time, maps of medical centers will also be made available to emergency service 108.
Meeting held to establish emergency trauma care network
The State Health System Resource Center held a meeting in the auditorium of National Health Mission to establish emergency trauma care network. Representatives of State Health Resource Center, AIIMS Rishikesh and HNB Uttarakhand Medical Education University shared views on providing immediate better treatment to seriously injured patients in emergency situations, establishing and strengthening the trauma care network. Presentation was also given. Keeping in mind the importance of trauma care network and golden hour in the state, NHM Mission Director Swati S Bhadoria stressed on technical intervention to save the life of a common man in an emergency. She said that maps of medical centers will be provided to emergency service 108. Bhadoria instructed the officials to sensitize special trauma training and train paramedics staff in the context of trauma care. Instructions were also given for mapping of health units. HNB Medical Education University Vice Chancellor Dr. Madan Lal Brahmabhatt stressed on promoting the training of community health workers and the community working on the ground. Associate Professor of Trauma Department at AIIMS Rishikesh Dr. Madhur Uniyal shared the future strategy regarding trauma care network. During this, Health Advisor Dr. Tripti Bahuguna, Health Director Dr. Sunita Tamta, Dr. Kuldeep Martolia, Dr. Hitender Singh, Dr. Sujata etc. were present.
Modernization of buses is needed to prevent road accidents
Dehradun: After the death of 36 passengers in the Almora bus accident, questions have also been raised on the system of the Transport Corporation. The Roadways Employees Joint Council seems to be concerned about this. They gave a memorandum to the MLA of Dharmapur area Vinod Chamoli to improve the system of bus operation for road safety. In the memorandum, the officials of the council said that 500 new modern buses are required to improve the bus fleet. Emphasis was laid on providing all the facilities like advanced technology like Euro 06, anti-lock braking system in these buses. Apart from this, demands were also raised to build new bus depots in districts like Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Uttarkashi, Tehri, train local youth for operation and maintenance of new buses, take strict action against overloading etc. Those who gave the memorandum included the council’s deputy general secretary Vipin Bijalwan, Anuraaj Nautiyal, Mukesh Naithani etc. Officials of the Roadways Employees Joint Council handing over the memorandum to the MLA of Dharmapur area Vinod Chamoli.
