Himachal is fully prepared for the New Year celebrations. After heavy snowfall in Himachal, lakhs of tourists are expected to flock to the tourist places of Himachal. After celebrating the New Year, tourists and people of Himachal will start the day by paying obeisance at the Shaktipeeths of the state. The doors of the temples of Shri Naina Devi will be opened for devotees from 2 o’clock tonight. Most of the hotels in Shimla, Manali, Chail, Kasauli, Dalhousie and other tourist places are packed to welcome the New Year. Special programs will be held in the state’s Tourism Development Corporation and private hotels this evening. There will be New Year parties, dance and dine and other competitions in the hotels. Chail, Manali, Dharamshala New Year Queen will also be selected. A large number of tourists reached the tourist places of Himachal on Monday. All the trains coming to Shimla for the last one week reached Shimla packed. Luxury and normal buses of HRTC and Tourism Development Corporation coming to Shimla are also arriving packed. Thousands of taxis are also entering Shimla every day. The number of tourist vehicles has also increased in Manali.
Tourist craze increased due to snowfall
Federation of Hotel and Restaurants Association President Gajendra Singh Thakur said that snowfall has increased the craze of celebrating New Year in Himachal. Special preparations have been made in hotels to celebrate New Year. The state will be full of tourists till the first week of January.
Nainital ready for New Year celebrations
Nainital has been decorated for New Year celebrations and preparations have been completed by the hotels. Most of the big hotels in the city have 100% rooms packed. Attractive programs and music will be seen in the package of these hotels this evening. Thousands of tourists reached Nainital on Monday. Along with live music, arrangements have been made by the hotels for gala dinner and DJ. Apart from this, musical chair competition will also be a centre of attraction for tourists. Hotel and Restaurant Association President Digvijay Singh Bisht said that many parts of the city including Mall Road, Thandi Sadak have been decorated with electric garlands. This year, arrangements have also been made for 10 gas heaters on Mall Road.
New Year will be celebrated on the Ridge, parties will be held in hotels
Special arrangements have been made for the celebration of New Year in Shimla, the queen of mountains. Hotel businessmen have made special arrangements to celebrate New Year on the Ridge ground. Famous artists will perform in special parties in hotels. Tourists will dance to the tunes of DJ. Gala dinner (includes drink reception, sitting dinner and entertainment) along with dine and dance will be arranged. For December 31, the occupancy in the hotels of Himachal Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC) has reached 90 percent. Along with this, almost all the big and small hotels near the city have 80 to 90 percent occupancy (rooms booked). Advance booking in hotels is going on in full swing.
