Self-employment and entrepreneurship have got a booster dose in Uttarakhand. The Pushkar Singh Dhami cabinet gave the green signal to the Chief Minister Self-Employment Scheme 2.0 by merging the Chief Minister Self-Employment Scheme with the Micro (Nano) Enterprise. In this, the amount for the micro enterprise project has been increased from Rs 50 thousand to Rs two lakh. More than 50 thousand people will be given employment in the new scheme.

Major decisions of the Cabinet
Another important decision is to give 75 percent subsidy in the project up to two lakh rupees to destitute women under the Chief Minister Single Women Self-Employment Scheme. 2000 women will be given its benefit. In the cabinet meeting held at the Secretariat on Friday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, decisions were taken in the interest of women, youth, employees along with the general public. From the current financial year, more encouragement is being given to self-employment and enterprises in the state. Chief Minister’s Secretary Shailesh Bagoli gave information about the decisions of the cabinet.
He informed that under the Chief Minister Self-Employment Scheme 2.0, projects up to Rs 25 lakh cost in manufacturing sector, Rs 10 lakh cost in service and trade sector and two lakh cost in micro activity will be included. Expansion of already established unit has also been linked to this scheme. General category applicants will be sanctioned 90 percent of the project loan, and Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Other Backward Class, Minority, Ex-Serviceman, Women and Divyangjan will be sanctioned 95 percent of the project loan. He informed that on the basis of district classification and approved project cost, 30 percent up to two lakhs and 25 percent from two lakhs to 10 lakhs will be provided as margin money assistance for category-A and B districts. Similarly, 20 percent up to 10 lakhs to 25 lakhs, 25 percent up to two lakhs, 20 percent from two lakhs to 10 lakhs and 10 lakhs to 25 lakhs will be provided as margin money assistance for category-C and D districts. Along with this, five percent additional margin money assistance will also be provided in any one of these categories in the form of geographical booster, social booster and product booster.
Poultry development will provide employment to 3500
The cabinet approved giving 75 percent subsidy to destitute women for projects up to two lakhs under the Chief Minister Single Women Self Employment Scheme, so that they can get social security. The cabinet approved the Uttarakhand Poultry Development Policy-2025. This will promote entrepreneurship. By encouraging poultry based units, 1000 people will get direct employment and 3500 people will get indirect employment.
