The Dhami government of the state is going to convene the monsoon session of the Assembly in the month of August. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has to take a decision regarding the place and date of the session. The state cabinet has authorized CM Dhami for this. Along with this, the market of discussions has also heated up in political circles regarding the session.
The question is floating that who will become the shield this time against the opposition attacks on the Dhami government within the assembly? This question is also present because Premchand Agarwal, who played the role of Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs Minister within the House, has resigned. The Chief Minister is handling his departments. Till now it has been a tradition that the Chief Minister does not play the role of Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs Minister within the Assembly. Will Dhami break this ritual and become a shield against opposition attacks within the House himself or will he give this responsibility to any other minister of his cabinet. These questions have started floating in political circles. Currently Dhami has more than 40 departments. Being the CM, he also has his own engagements related to governance. For these reasons, the CM bets on a smart, agile and experienced minister for floor management within the House.
Fulfilling the responsibility is like walking on the edge of a sword
The option should be such that it not only thwarts the opposition’s attacks with logical answers but is also adept at counter-attacking with the arrows of logic. Looking at the experience of the last session, fulfilling the responsibility of the Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs Minister in the House is like walking on the edge of a sword. What can be lost due to slipping of tongue and loss of patience here can be understood from the last session. In such a situation, the search for a floor manager will not be easy. However, in the Dhami cabinet, there are three prominent faces in the form of Satpal Maharaj, Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat and Subodh Uniyal, according to experience and seniority, who are being discussed. But ultimately the decision has to be taken by the CM.
